After a long break from competition, the Perry Jayette swim team returns to the water tonight for a special evening at the McCreary Center. The Jayettes will host Senior Night with visiting teams Carroll and Algona set to compete.
Tonight marks Perry’s first meet in two weeks and their first home appearance since September 30. The Jayettes’ last outing was a strong 82-64 victory over Atlantic, where they collected six gold medals. Aleah Karolus and Ellie Hughes led the charge that night with standout swims across multiple events.
Perry has seen plenty of Algona this season, meeting the Bulldogs three times but coming up short in each matchup. Tonight will provide another chance for redemption — and the first opportunity to test themselves against Carroll this season.
Head coach Jean Dowd’s squad will also take time to honor its seniors before the action begins. The celebration and competition are set to start at 6:30 p.m. at the McCreary Center.
It’s shaping up to be a meaningful night for the Jayettes — one part tribute, one part tune-up, and all about making a splash in front of the home crowd.
