The Perry Public Library is holding a creative art show to coincide with the annual Art on the Prairie Festival in November, but submissions are due soon.
According to Youth Services Librarian Laura Pieper, the organization is hosting the first-ever Tiny Art Show, where people are encouraged to design artwork on a four inch by four inch mini canvas to display during the festival. She highlights that artwork from students in the Perry community will be making an appearance.
“We’re pleased to showcase local student artists, so come and view the original artwork from Perry Community School students throughout the library. Everybody in the P.A.C.E.S. (Perry’s Academic, Cultural, Enrichment, Services) program has done one of these canvasses. So, we’re really excited to have their families come and see them. And a lot of our larger families, especially the homeschool families, who come to the library every week, have also done those tiny art projects as well.”
Pieper outlines that the artwork will revolve around the theme of “Reading Takes You Places” and will not only be available to see during Art on the Prairie November 8th and 9th, but will continue to be on display until Saturday, November 15th. However, she emphasizes that the artwork will need to be turned into the library by this Monday in order to be eligible. Any questions can be directed to the Perry Public Library at (515)-465-3569.
