A West Des Moines man was arrested for an alleged incident in Jefferson in April.

According to court documents, on April 26th, a Jefferson Police Officer responded to a call of a stolen vehicle from a parking lot of a business. Surveillance footage from the business matched the description that an employee told the officer that looked suspicious about the same time as the vehicle went missing. Court documents show that the description of the vehicle and the individual believed to have stolen it was sent to neighboring law enforcement entities.

The criminal complaint states that on April 28th, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office responded with a positive identification of the individual. An arrest warrant was then issued on May 12th charging 38-year-old Scott Raymond of West Des Moines with a Class C Felony for second degree theft and an aggravated misdemeanor for driving while barred. Court documents show that Raymond was arrested on October 30th in Des Moines and he was then booked into the Greene County Jail under a $12,000 cash or surety bond.
