
In the first round of the Class 5A football playoffs, the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs faced off against the Sioux City East Black Raiders. The Mustangs battled, but fell to Sioux City East in the end, 28-14.
The Mustangs looked at an uphill battle after giving up a touchdown on the opening kick off to the Black Raiders. Although down, the Mustangs continued to hang on, with Chase Engel notching in two touchdowns in the air, while Connor Stolpe helped the DCG defense with big stops against the Black Raiders defense in the second half.
The season unfortunately comes to a close for the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs football team but there is still much to celebrate for DCG, with the Mustangs qualifying for the playoffs in their first season in Class 5A.
