With the year winding down, Greene County Historical Society is hosting its second to last monthly program.
According to the Historical Society, their November program will highlight Native American tribes that lived and passed through Greene County in the 19th Century. Organizers say Historical Society member Janet Durlam will be the presenter as she will talk about the Meskwakis that were a part of the Fox and Sauk tribes that were located within Greene County. She will also show the journals from the early settlers of the county that interacted with Native Americans.
The free program will take place this coming Friday at 12:45pm at the Scranton Methodist Church. A meal will be served prior to the program at noon for $12. The deadline to reserve a meal is Tuesday by contacting the Historical Society at 515-386-4408.
