Guthrie County voters will decide on two public measures in the upcoming City and School Board elections on Tuesday.
Guthrie County Auditor Dani Fink explains that the first measure concerns the city of Menlo and proposes a change to its revenue purpose statement. Currently, the statement allocates zero percent of funds to property tax relief and 100 percent to community betterment. The proposed change would reallocate funds to 25 percent for property tax relief, 50 percent for roads/streets, and 25 percent for parks, effective January 1, 2026.
Fink mentions that the second public measure is for the Panorama School Board. This measure would authorize the district to enter into a contract for a general bond obligation of up to $19.6 million. These funds would be used to enhance sports facilities by adding a competition gymnasium and to improve the security of elementary and secondary building entrances.
