The Dallas County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Office is holding a special event on Saturday to help less fortunate families.

According to Extension Marketing Manager Sarah Wood, the organization is putting together their Meals From The Heartland program, which is a country-wide community service project to help provide food for those individuals and families that are in need. She describes that anyone is welcome to participate in packing meals to send out to those in need.

Wood outlines that the Meals From the Heartland event is taking place at the Dallas County Fairgrounds Community Building, 28061 Fairground Road, in Adel on Saturday from 9am-noon. She confirms that people need to register beforehand, but the program is open to the public for free.
