Today is Election Day and in Greene County, there are several contested races for the city/school elections.

The Greene County School Board includes seven individuals running for three seats. Additionally, there are three contested city council elections in Greene County. Those include the Jefferson City Council, with six people running for three seats; Grand Junction City Council, which also has six people running for three seats; and Scranton City Council has four people for two seats.

The polls are open from 7am-8pm at several locations across Greene County. County Auditor Billie Jo Hoskins says eligible voters in the Jefferson 1 and 2 Precincts are to go to the Greene County Community Center. Those individuals in the Central Precinct must vote at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds. People who live in the East Precinct are to cast their ballot at St. Brigid’s Parish Center in Grand Junction. The polling location for the North Precinct is the Churdan Public Library. Voters can cast a ballot in the West Precinct at the Community Room in Scranton.

After the polls are closed at 8pm, Raccoon Valley Radio will have reports at 9, 10 and 11pm on all three stations, as well as the unofficial results on our website later this evening and tomorrow.
