A Minnesota man was recently arrested for an alleged incident in Greene County.

According to court documents, a Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop just before 1am Tuesday at T Avenue and Highway 30 for driving 67 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone. Court documents show that when the deputy ran the Vehicle Identification Number, it was reported stolen on November 3rd from Freeborn County, Minnesota.

The criminal complaint states that the driver, 31-year-old Nicholas Walther of Albert Lea, Minnesota, said the stolen vehicle was a misunderstanding. The affidavit report shows that as Walther was being arrested, he also admitted to possessing marijuana and having an open container of alcohol. The deputy seized those items and charged Walther with a Class C Felony for first degree theft, a serious misdemeanor for his first offense for possession of marijuana and simple misdemeanors for possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, open container, and no valid driver’s license.

Walther was booked into the Greene County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
