
The Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs volleyball team qualified for the 2025 state volleyball tournament in Class 4A and faced off against the North Scott Lady Lancers in the first round. The Mustangs battled, but fell to the Lady Lancers 3-1 ending DCG’s season and post season run.
The first and final set was a cut throat battle, with North Scott defeating DCG in the first set 27-25 in extra points. DCG rallied in the second set, defeating the Lady Lancers 25-17 but North Scott responded winning the next two sets, 25-16 then 25-23. For the Mustangs, Gwen Farely ending the first round with 45 assists, while Madison Messerly and Avery Edgington both ended with 13 kills but just fell short North Scott 3-1.
Although the season has come to an end, the Mustangs can celebrate qualifying for the state tournament and winning the regional championship to get there.
