The Perry City Council met in regular session on Monday.

The council held a public hearing for a notice to abate nuisance on a property located along Lucinda Street. City Clerk Liz Hix brought up that the hearing was originally scheduled for October 6th, but the owner of the property made a request to push it back to Monday. However, Hix confirmed that the owner emailed her hours prior to the meeting to inform her that she would not be able to attend.

Hix noted that the hearing request came from the son of the owner, who is under the age of 18, and so there were some legal issues presented with the abatement nuisance hearing. After discussion, At-Large John Andorf suggested putting a 30-day notice on the abatement nuisance hearing and the rest of the council approved.

Items on the agenda that were approved included a change order of $1,693.58 and a pay request for a final amount of $87,053.10 for the Iowa Street Stormwater Wetland project, a resolution to accept a statement of completion and final acceptance for the Frog Creek Restoration project for $1,741,062.23, a pay application for the Downtown Improvements phase one project in the amount of $57,085.68 to TK Concrete, a pay application for the Wastewater Treatment Facility Improvements for $272,182.55 to Woodruff Construction, and reappointing Kim Herrera to the Perry Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
