Greene County girls and boys cross-country head coach Jeff Lamoureux and his returning runners have high expectations for the 2026 season. The 2025 campaign wrapped up last Friday morning with senior Kaycee Pittman finished 62nd among 136 runners in the girls’ Class 2A five kilometers (3.1 miles) race at Kennedy Park north of Ft. Dodge. She joined the team late and ran just four cross-country races, yet finished in the top half of the State Meet field.
The coach said one of his goals and the expectation especially for the boys is to qualify the entire team for State next season. He told Raccoon Valley Radio the potential is there with only Jaden Koller, the number three runner, the only senior. Lamoureux, “There is work to be done, but with nearly the whole team back, that’s the expectation.”
Leah McCormick and Ava Minnehan are the two seniors on the girls’ team.
