Upper Iowa University (Fayette) kicker/punter Nathan Behne was named the GLVC (Great Lakes Valley Conference) Special Teams Player of the Week after the Peacocks’ 57-7 victory on Nov. 1 vs. McKendree (IL). It’s the second time this season and third time in his UIU career Behne has received the honor. Behne is a 2024 Greene County High School graduate who earned All-State honors as a kicker for the Rams.
The sophomore punted twice for 93 yards (46.5 ave.), went two for two on field goal attempts, seven for seven on extra points, and scored a season high 13 points in the contest. Behne ended the first half with a 40 yard field goal and added a 38 yarder in the third quarter. He kicked off nine times and McKendree averaged their own 21 yard line to begin drives.
UIU is 7-2 and hosts Quincy (IL) (5-4) this Saturday at 1 p.m. on Senior Day.
