As the athletic season transitions from the fall to the winter, the West Central Valley girls basketball team continue to prepare for the upcoming season, head coach Dan Druivenga expressed the importance of multisport athletes on the Wildcat girls basketball team.
Although conditioning is different for every sport, coach Druivenga recognized the importance that other sports have on his athletes.
“You can’t substitute competition, you need them playing something to keep their competitive edge going, but each sport is a little different for conditioning. We’ll have to transition into more full court sprint sprints, getting back on defense, and then getting out on fast break so that’s always one of the most difficult things to do is to get them in basketball shape.”
The Wildcat girls look to continue to get back into basketball shape as the basketball season begins in just a few weeks.
