The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met in regular session on Tuesday.

Turner Construction Project Manager Chad Lane gave updates relating to the Dallas County Courthouse renovation project, the Secondary Roads Administration addition, and the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office Evidence Storage Building and Firing Range in Adel. Lane described that wall framing on the first floor is done at the courthouse, all the windows and interior framing is completed for the Secondary Roads Administration addition, and are preparing to install site utilities at the Evidence Storage Building and Firing Range.

Following that, the board approved pay applications of $405,033.51 for the courthouse renovations, $862,877.55 for the Secondary Roads Administration addition, and $949,203.92 for the Evidence Storage Building and Firing Range. Next, Farnsworth Group Architect Principal Kristofer Orth made a pitch to the board that they needed to create a committee to choose a Construction Manager At-Risk for the new Emergency Medical Services Station. After discussion, it was decided that Orth, Finance Director Rob Tietz, Director of Human Resources Beth Deardorff, Information Technology Director Cliff Robinson, Supervisor Julia Helm, and EMS Director of Operations Kristin Brady will form a six-member committee.

Items on the agenda that were approved included a Adel Lighted Bridge span replacement on the east side of the Raccoon River Valley Trail, a resolution from the Opioid Settlement Oversight Committee for project funding recommendations to the Dallas County ISU Extension, Dallas County Hospital, and the Granger EMS for a total amount of $222,307, and a resolution to transfer $1 million from the General Basic Fund to the Capital Fund.

The board also set a time and date for a public hearing for a site repopulation Master Matrix construction permit on November 18th at 9:30am, and another public hearing for the fiscal year 2026 budget amendment on November 25th at 9:30am to both be held in the Dallas County Board of Supervisors Meeting Room in the Administration Building. The board adjourned the supervisors meeting and entered into a Drainage District Trustees meeting.
