Greene County Community Theatre is making a slight change to its annual holiday season performance this year.

GCCT President Josh Tuel says they are doing “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens but as a radio program, similar to the recent Halloween-eve performance of “War of the Worlds” by Orson Welles. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio their organization felt that with the holiday season being busy for lots of people, they wanted to record the staged reading of the Christmas-time favorite and release it on their Facebook page.

Tuel points out that auditions for the play will be held this Sunday at 4pm and the following Monday at 7pm at the Masonic Lodge in Jefferson. He notes that the auditions will consist of people reading short excerpts from the script and there are up to 20 people of all ages needed for the play. Tuel stresses that the play will require no memorization and limited rehearsals before the day of recording. He adds that if someone is interested in being a part of the play but can’t make it to an audition, to contact him at 515-370-0919 or email him at joshtuel@yahoo.com.
