A new opportunity for youth in Greene County is coming to the Jefferson Public Library next week.
Greene County ISU Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Samantha Hardaway says they are co-hosting a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Station on Monday from 2-4:30pm. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the theme is “Pumpkin Exploration” and the idea of the interactive and hands-on STEM programs came from a neighboring county.
“Carroll County has implemented these in their public libraries and they’ve gone over really well. And so, we decided to take this as kind of one of our new programs to offer in 2025. We held it up in Churdan (at the Public Library) a couple of weeks ago and had almost 50 kids there. So we’re really excited to see what will happen in Jefferson.”
Monday’s collaborative program is with the Greene County Libraries Association and it is for kids ages four to ten. Contact the Greene County Extension Office in Jefferson at 515-386-2138 to learn more.
