There’s a new location that library card holders can visit if their library takes part in the Iowa Adventure Pass.

Mary J Barnett Memorial Library Director Jerri Hawkins says that patrons may be familiar with using the pass to get tickets to the Blank Park Zoo, Science Center of Iowa and the Des Moines Children’s Museum, and tells Raccoon Valley Radio about a new venue that is included with the Adventure Pass.

“Iowa Adventure Pass has some new fun things available with that as well. The Blue Zoo in Des Moines, with Iowa Adventure Pass, all library members can buy one, get two free. So you buy one adult pass and you get two free kids admissions to the Blue Zoo. This is a great way to go check out this facility for a lot less money. So please don’t forget to use your library card to help you get into those fun events and take those kiddos out to educate them about all kinds of animals.”

Hawkins mentions that in order to utilize the Iowa Adventure Pass, individuals must have a library card first, which is free to sign up. She adds that the library is able to take part in the program thanks to the Library Board, and the generous donations from different organizations in the community.
