Iowa State University Extension and Outreach recently made a stop in Perry to hold a community forum to discuss how the city is operating, and Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti shares that there was great feedback from the organization.

Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio that several members from the ISU Extension Office visited the city between the months of May and August, making 24-hour stops to gather a census of the community. She explains that the members analyzed the city’s online presence, is the signage helpful, which shops did they gravitate towards, as well as reviewing the hospitality. Pasutti outlines that overall, the members pointed out many positive aspects of the community, but offered some ways to further enhance Perry’s potential.

“How can we take this promotion or initiative and do more? And how can we attract more visitors, but how can we also make sure that the experience is really positive that they want to come back.”

Pasutti indicates that about 30 people attended the forum and loved to hear opinions from individuals outside of the community to get a fresh perspective on areas that are going well, but ones that can still be improved upon.
