The Des Moines Area Community College, which houses the VanKirk Career Academy in Perry, was recognized on the national level.

According to DMACC President Rob Denson, the institution attended the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships Conference in Los Angeles, California and won the Reaccreditation Plaque. 

The honor signifies that a college’s concurrent enrollment program has met the rigorous national standards to ensure the quality of high school-offered college courses. DMACC VanKirk Career Academy Director Eddie Diaz made an appearance at the conference, alongside five other DMACC representatives.
