Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Volleyball senior Josie Steinkamp acknowledges that the close dynamic the team had this season helped catapult life-long relationships.

Steinkamp shares that she was able to develop a close friendship with many of the girls on the 2024 squad, even though she didn’t see the floor that much. She highlights that her grandparents attended every game, and also had appearances from her aunts and uncles, who she doesn’t get to see too often. As far as the team culture goes, Steinkamp explains the girls connected so well.

“We were just super close and we would just go out for dinner after a game, and that was definitely my favorite part. The team dinners were great, everyone was super close talking about school and classes, what we’re going to do after high school. We’re so close that one of the girls on my team is going to be my roommate in college.”

Steinkamp reveals that she’ll be rooming with ADM senior Anna Holloway at the University of South Dakota following graduation in the spring. She notes that the team dinner at Holloway’s house was her favorite, in addition to Culver’s. At the University of South Dakota, Steinkamp will be majoring in nursing.
