Riley Fox and Jacey McFarland were the only two seniors on this year’s DCG Mustangs volleyball team and their leadership and play meant the world to the rest of the girls along with the coaching staff.

This group, who had been under the watchful eye of head coach Meg Jackson since they were in elementary school, have been through a lot as a team and this season was no different. A lot of selfless play allowed them to make it to state and for Fox and McFarland it was a fun journey they’ll never forget.

Riley Fox didn’t see a ton of action on the court but she played well when given the opportunity. She had two digs and two aces in five sets played to go along with seven serves. McFarland was in just about every set and played lights out with 160 kills, 62 blocks, 54 digs, and 4 aces.

Although their roles were different, each of those two girls helped in big ways. Unselfishness and willingness to sacrifice for their team are attributes that winning players always have and Fox and McFarland brought that and more to the Mustangs.
