
The person who died after a crash occurred Wednesday morning along Highway 44 in Dallas County has been identified.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash happened at the intersection of Highway 44 and J Avenue around 8:36am. The Iowa State Patrol explains that a 2009 Toyota Scion, that was driven by 63-year-old Laura Keasey of Dallas Center, was traveling south on J Avenue, when she failed to stop and struck a westbound on Highway 44, a 2009 Kenworth T-800 semi-tractor that was hauling grain, driven by 69-year-old Edward Swinger of Redfield.
The State Patrol says Keasey was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office. The crash report indicates that Keasey was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash. The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, Dallas County Emergency Medical Services and the Adel Fire Department assisted at the scene. The incident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
