The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met in regular session on Tuesday.
Dallas County Auditor Elections Administrator Emily Reidburn read through all the votes tallied up for the first tier of all the elected officials in the county on November 4th, which then Supervisor Chair Kim Chapman and Supervisor Brad Golightly signed off to authorize the results, as Supervisor Julia Helm was not in attendance. Reidburn said that other tiers would need to be accounted for at a later date.
Next, Farnsworth Group Architect Principal Kristofer Orth addressed the board to share a proposed site and floor plan for the new Emergency Medical Services Station in Adel on Highway 6 south of the Raccoon River Valley Trail. During the presentation, a resident expressed their concerns about the amount of bathroom facilities that would be in the building.
Following discussion, Supervisor Golightly believed that having a public workshop open to residents to answer questions would be the best case scenario before making any further decisions. Supervisor Chair Chapman agreed and they set the workshop for Wednesday, December 3rd at 7pm inside the Administration Building in Adel.
Items on the agenda that were approved included consensus from the board for the Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce to use parts of the Admin Building to host their Hometown Holiday Celebration in early December, and a resolution to set time and date of December 9th at 9:30am to hold a public hearing for the Raccoon River Valley Trail Adel Lighted Bridge span replacement project.
The board also held pre-budget workshops for several departments featuring Planning and Development, Information Technology, Human Resources, Finance and Facilities, as well as themselves.
