The University of Iowa swimming facility in Iowa City hosts the two day Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union State Swimming and Diving Championships today and tomorrow. Individual event preliminaries and diving are today, while all relays as well as individual event finals are on Friday.
Greene County freshman Ava Hinote will be in two relays tomorrow. She swims for the Carroll High Tigers under an athletic sharing agreement. Hinote will be in the 200 yard freestyle relay and the 400 yard freestyle relay. The Tigers enter the competition with the 24th fastest qualifying time in the shorter relay and 29th fastest in the longer race. There are 32 teams in each relay and swimming both days begins at 12 p.m.
