Adel-DeSoto-Minburn senior Hudson Lorensen has officially committed to Upper Iowa University after signing his letter of intent on Wednesday.

Lorensen expresses that Upper Iowa was one of the first four-year institutions that gave him an offer and is stoked to play under Head Coach Casey Kasperbauer, who was an Assistant with the University of South Dakota from 2021 to 2024. Lorensen wants to major in business finance and is hopeful to receive his Master’s Degree as well.

Lorensen’s focus prior to his senior year is to continue to develop his skills offensively and be a pest on the defensive end. He has a great feeling about the Tiger basketball team heading into the 2025-26 season.

“I just think that this year is going to be a special year. I think that we’ve got a lot of opportunities to do things that have never been done here at Adel. Obviously, we had a great year last year, but I don’t say “state championship or bust,” but that’s where we’re at.”

ADM concluded the 2024 season with a 22-5 overall record, and advanced to the state tournament, losing to Clear Lake in the Class 3A State Semifinals. This year, the Tigers open the regular season on the road in Grimes, playing Dallas Center-Grimes on December 2nd.
