Two Greene County Medical Center employees recently completed a special training to improve their leadership skills

According to GCMC, Director of Nursing Abby Skoglund, along with Patient Access Supervisor Shaunna Hadley went through the six month Leadership Development Program through the Iowa Hospital Association (IHA). The medical center says Skoglund has been working in several departments across her 16 year career, starting off in the long-term care unit. Hadley has been with the medical center for almost six years and she started working the front desk.

The Executive Team approached Skoglund and Hadley about the IHA opportunity and they both found the experience to be very rewarding and they each have implemented some of the strategies and information they learned to their worklife. The medical center says they have had several other employees complete the IHA Leadership Development Program, including Information Technology Director Bret Stuart, Imaging Director Heather Booth, Prior Authorization Supervisor Jamie McDonald and Lab Director Jo Hart.
