DCG Girls Cross Country had a total of ten seniors round out their final season in Mustang red and silver at the 4A state championship, a strong end to a strong year.
Emma Adair, Addie Basler, Sarah Chittum, Addison Dooley, Kylie Heaberlin, Alexa Jones, Emily Kleckner, Halle Olson, Kayli Reggio, and Bryyn Weydert make up the 2026 class of girls runners. Each one did their part to bring this team to a fourth-place finish at state.
Dooley led the seniors with a time of 18:45 at state, which was good for 22nd overall. Each of these girls spent the whole season encouraging and lifting up their teammates, but the seniors knew that to elevate a good team to a great one, it starts with unselfish leadership.
Each of the ten girls took it upon themselves to create a bond on this team to make 2025 one they would never forget. Practice after practice and run after run means you spend more time with your teammates than anyone else, but these girls wouldn’t trade it for the world. That speaks, in large part, to what the seniors have done to make each stride of the season worthwhile.
