Community members will have the chance to tour the Dallas County Emergency Medical Services facility on Friday and Saturday in Adel.

The development of a new EMS facility has been proposed to help address the department’s need for more space and to increase its ability to serve the community and staff efficiently.

The current EMS building, located at 512 Nile Kinnick Drive S in Adel, no longer meets the requirements of the department. Dallas County EMS will host two public tours of the current building on Friday from 5-7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon to help the public understand the need for the proposed new facility.

The proposed site for the new EMS facility is on land currently owned by Dallas County, located on the east side of Adel, between Highway 6 and the Raccoon River Valley Trail.

The Board of Supervisors reviewed a site and floor plan for the proposed EMS facility at their November 12 meeting. The board will host a public meeting at 7 p.m. on December 3 inside the Dallas County Administration Building, 800 Court Street, in Adel. The public is invited to attend the meeting to learn more about the potential project and hear from county officials.
