Greene County Activities Director Dave Wright has released the names of the 2026 inductees to the Greene County High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Two State Champion track & field relays will be inducted. They are the 1989 Class 2A girls shuttle hurdle relay with Cathy (Proctor) Busch, Lana (Drake) McDonald, Christie Burnell, and Kristi (Kinne) Hayes, and the 1994 2A girls 4 x 100 meter relay with Allison Drewry, Deisha (Goshon) Reynolds, Brandy (Meinecke) Peterson, and Missy (Wolterman) Walker.

Individual inductees are 1998 Jefferson-Scranton graduate Bob Allen for football, ’98 J-S grad Jeremy Thompson for baseball, and 2020 Greene County graduate Junior Gutierres for soccer.

This is the sixth HOF class and they will be introduced during the Rams girl/boy basketball doubleheader on Friday, Jan. 16 in Jefferson vs. Grand View Christian (Des Moines). That will take place around 6:30 p.m. at halftime of the girls’ game. At 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, also at the high school in Jefferson, there will be a community reception in the commons area, followed by a short program in the auditorium where the inductees will speak.

There is an admission charge for the Jan. 16 basketball games, but the Jan. 17 ceremony is free of charge.
