The West Central Valley Girls Wrestling Team began the 2025-26 season on Monday with three dual wins versus Southwest Valley, Martensdale-St. Marys and Panorama at home in Stuart.
The Wildcats won the first match with a team score of 54 to 24 against the Timberwolves. In the 100 pound weight category, WCV’s Siera Stafflees won over Destiny Easley with a dropped fall, then it was Wildcat’s Aleyca Comito (115 lbs.) who pinned Tianna Gaunt in 2 minutes and 55 seconds.
In the second match, WCV beat Martensdale-St. Mary’s 48 to 24. Wildcat’s Elizabeth Handy (125 lbs.), Willow Ray (135 lbs.), and Gracie Sloss (170 lbs.) grabbed big victories. In the third round, WCV beat Panorama 54 to 24. Lorelei Grinnell (110 lbs.) pinned Panthers’ Natalie Waltz in 2:35, and Handy pinned Ella Carico at 2:27.
The Wildcats begin the year at 3-0, and will travel to Southwest Valley High School in Corning on Saturday for the SWV Girls Wrestling Tournament, beginning at 10am. For the full results from the WCV Quadrangular, check below.

Dual 1 – WCV 54, Southwest Valley 24
At 100, Siera Stafflees ran into a tough opponent and dropped a fall to Destiny Easley at 1:57.
Aryella Handy (105) answered with a forfeit win to get us on the board.
Lorelei Grinnell (110) followed with another forfeit, and suddenly the momentum swung our way.
At 115, Aleyca Comito delivered our first big mat win of the night, pinning Tianna Gaunt in 2:55.
Elizabeth Handy (125) stuck Josslynn Benge in 2:51.
Willow Ray (130), Rhowen Miller (140), Janae Dukes (155) and Gracie Sloss (170) all earned forfeits.
At 190, Gracie Flores capped it with a strong fall over Akima Whipple at 3:09.
Dual 2 – WCV 48, Martensdale–St. Marys 24
Forfeits from Siera Stafflees (100) and Aryella Handy (105).
At 110, Gretchen Warmouth pinned Lorelei Grinnell at 1:48.
At 115, Myla Nehring caught Aleyca Comito in 0:35.
At 120, Mikayla Sleeth pinned Emma Sand in 0:28.
Elizabeth Handy (125) swung momentum right back with a lightning-quick fall over Aalyka Keenan in just 32 seconds.
After a double forfeit at 130, Willow Ray (135) stepped up and won by injury default over Bailey Trogdon, another six big points.
Rhowen Miller (140) added a forfeit, and Janae Dukes (155) followed with another.
At 170, Gracie Sloss pinned Lilly Gibbons in 1:10.
Gracie Flores (190) tacked on a forfeit win.
Martensdale–St. Marys finished with a forfeit at 235, but we walked away with a 48–24 victory and our second dual of the night.
Dual 3 – WCV 54, Panorama 24
Siera Stafflees (100) and Aryella Handy (105) opened with back-to-back forfeits to stake us to a 12–0 lead.
At 110, Lorelei Grinnell came up big, pinning Panorama’s Natalie Waltz in 2:35—a great bounce-back after her first dual.
Aleyca Comito (115) followed with a forfeit, and Elizabeth Handy (120) kept the train rolling by pinning Ella Carico in 2:27.
Panorama briefly halted our run when Cadence Petersen pinned Emma Sand (125) in 1:34, but once again our girls answered.
We had a double forfeit at 130, then Willow Ray (135) and Rhowen Miller (140) each picked up forfeits to stretch the lead.
Panorama grabbed a forfeit at 145 (Dafne Hernandez) and a fall at 155 when Gracie Recker pinned Janae Dukes in 0:42.
Gracie Sloss (170) and Gracie Flores (190) both received forfeits.
Panorama wrapped things up with a forfeit at 235 (Ava Johnson), but by then the final score—54–24 Wildcats.
