Things will be a little different at the Adair County Fair next year.
Adair County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Youth Coordinator Caroline Savage says that sponsors for fair recognitions will be receiving letters and cards around the beginning of the year, but that what they’re sponsoring is changing in some areas. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio they conducted a survey on whether to continue with trophies, or change to banners.
“We sent out polls, we discussed this at all of our club meetings and the results we found were highly in favor of this switch. So news to everybody for the 2026 Adair County Fair, you are gonna start seeing banners.”
Savage mentions that this change only affects livestock and animal projects, so exhibitors in those areas will be receiving banners with the names of the sponsors on it. She adds that there will still be trophies handed out for non-animal events, so that people who still want to sponsor a trophy could do that instead of a banner.
