Main Street Guthrie Center is looking to celebrate with the community next weekend.

Director Becky Petersen says that they will be holding their annual Very Merry Guthrie Center on November 29th. She shares that businesses will be taking part in Small Business Saturday throughout the day, and that there will be an opportunity for children to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Santa’s Village event that morning from 10am to noon at the Guthrie Activity Center. Petersen explains Santa’s Village will also include a craft workshop to decorate an ornament, a station to write your letter to Santa, and a cookie to take home and decorate.

From there, individuals are encouraged to check out the Festival of Trees at the Mary J Barnett Memorial Library from 10am to 1pm. Petersen mentions that later that evening there will be a soup supper at the Guthrie Activity Center from 5-6:30pm, with the lighted Christmas parade to follow. She adds that lineup for the parade will begin at 5:15pm at the Guthrie County Courthouse, and the parade itself will start at 6pm. After the parade there will be a tree and park lighting at Mitchell Park at 7pm.
