The Adel Parks and Recreation Department is getting into the Thanksgiving spirit early with an event tomorrow. 

The organization invites parents and children to participate in a free throw contest. The competition will be divided into five age divisions from 8-18 years old 

The teams will be made up of one parent and one child from the same family. Each person will shoot 15 free throws. The winning team from each division will receive a gift certificate for a free turkey.

The event is free and no pre-registration is required. The competition will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District Administration Center Gym in Adel.
