An annual holiday event is fast approaching in Jefferson and there is also a new addition.

Jefferson Matters Executive Director Matt Wetrich says the Winter Festival: Celebration of Trees will be from December 4th-6th at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio, new this year is a pre-registered event called, “Ladies Night Under the Lights,” that includes crafts, festive drinks, charcuterie, holiday music and a preview of the trees for $50 and it takes place on Thursday, December 4th from 7-9pm.

Wetrich notes everything is then free starting the following day on Friday. From 4-7pm, Wetrich says families can enjoy looking at the trees, enjoying refreshments, going on hayrack rides and using the sock skating rink. He points out that from 7:30-10pm that night is going to be an adult only time with trivia and beverages.

Wetrich states that the three-day event wraps up on that Saturday from 9am-1pm for more holiday cheer. He urges everyone to submit a registration form to decorate a tree, of which they are hoping to have 50 lined up this year.

“Now think about this way, if you’re a business, you can get a business-based tree there, just great PR (public relations) for you. Have fun with it at your place of business, put together something that makes sense for you, and get your business in there. Or maybe it’s an organization you’re with or maybe you’ve got a fun theme from your house, maybe you want it to be a sports one or a favorite team, whatever it’s literally the skies open, it just need to be family-friendly, obviously.
