With the first game of the girls basketball season scheduled for tomorrow, head coach of the Perry Jayettes basketball team David Morris reflects on coaching 13 freshmen on this year’s Jayettes squad.

“We’ve got a lot of younger girls, 13 freshmen out of our 20 girls.”

Coach Morrison shared,

“They are getting a lot of fundamental reps. and they’re just getting better. They respond to every little detail that you tell them too.”

The 2025-26 season officially begins tomorrow for Perry as the Jayettes travel to Des Moines to Hoover High School for battle against the Huskies. Tip off is scheduled for 6:15pm.
