Jefferson DOES gives $500 to Jefferson Elks

A non-profit organization in Jefferson recently gave out funding to some worthy causes.

Jefferson Does #196 President Shelly Berger says they gave $500 each to the Jefferson Elks #2406, Sierra Community Theatre and Greene County Congregate Meals. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that their organization decides at their monthly meetings about what groups to give their money to. Berger explains that requests come to them from letters asking for funding or it could be from what their members are seeing in the community as a need. 

Berger points out that the grants that they award annually are from their fundraisers and meals that they provide throughout the year. On behalf of the Jefferson Does, Berger is happy to give out so many donations locally and their organization appreciates the community’s support for attending their various fundraisers every year.
