The Panora City Council will meet in regular session Monday night.

The Council will hold a public hearing on the proposed expansion of the Central Panora Urban Renewal Area, then consider for approval a resolution regarding the necessity and to establish an urban renewal area, along with authorizing internal advances for funding of urban renewal projects. They will also set a public hearing for a proposed amendment to the revitalization plan for the Panora Urban Revitalization Area, and consider for approval the second reading of the ordinance adopting the 2025 City of Panora code of ordinances.

The Council then will consider for approval the fiscal year 2024-25 annual urban renewal report, a resolution obligating funds from the urban renewal tax revenue fund for appropriation to the payment of annual appropriation tax increment financed obligations in the next fiscal year. Some other items on the agenda for approval include the fiscal year 2025 financial report and street financial report, along with an intergovernmental transfer or public funds agreement between the Iowa Department of Human Services (IDHS) and Panora Emergency Medical Services.

The Council will also consider for approval a provider participation agreement with IDHS, Independent Medical Examination and Ground Emergency Medical Transportation for an uncompensated cost prospective program. They will discuss a recommendation for the planning and zoning commission in regards to sidewalk sales in the business commercial and historic business commercial districts, as well as consider for approval written consent to discharge a firearm inside city limits on ag zoned property owned by Ethan Boyer for the purpose of hunting Canada geese for Joey Dyer.
