Panorama Activities Director Bruce Dahlhauser outlines the process it takes to scheduling transportation for all the variety of activities.
Dahlhauser shares that depending on the activity, he will typically determine which department has the most students to offer accommodations. Dahlhauser uses the analogy of maneuvering rocks through sand, but everyone works together to make things flow.
“They do a fantastic job, and I can never give them enough credit for filling in the gaps and going when they need to go and where they need to go to make sure it all works. Because they certainly don’t want to take away from their own program, but they also don’t want to force a student to choose theirs and then give up something else. And so they’re really good at filling in the gaps and making it all fit.”
Dahlhauser points out that the buses do fill up quickly, but sees that as a good sign where students want to participate in many events, which makes him happy.
