The Lighted Holiday Parade will help kick off the holiday season on Friday in Perry.

The Perry Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for the annual event and Executive Director Lynsi Pasutti encourages businesses and individuals to get their floats ready.

“And really anyone can participate. A lot of businesses and organizations, but we’ve even had festive residents come out and decorate their cars just for the fun of it. It’s just really fun to have that official kick-off to the holiday season the day after Thanksgiving (with the) the lighted parade.”

Kading Properties will help award prizes to the biggest and brightest floats as this year’s presenting sponsor.

Those interested in entering a lighted float or decorated vehicle should line up starting at 6 p.m. at the corner of 2nd and Otley, near Oasis Market. Volunteers will be present to help facilitate line-up and the start of the parade.

The parade will start at 7 p.m. and will travel from Otley to 3rd before heading downtown on 2nd Street.

Santa will be on hand to visit with kids and pose for photos at the Hotel Pattee following the parade. Isaiah Christensen will perform holiday music before Santa arrives at the hotel.
