Three wrestlers from West Central Valley (WCV) High School captured top three finishes at the Southwest Valley Tournament on Saturday, which featured 15 Midwestern schools.
In the 110 pound weight class, Wildcats’ Lorelei Grinnell won third place by defeating Danni Irvine from Tarkio, Montana in a fall (2 minutes and 28 seconds). For weight class 115, WCV’s Aleyca Comito also notched third over East Union’s Khloe Parker in a fall (5:04), and Gracie Sloss, representing 170 lbs., tallied third with a victory over Shenandoah’s Kyndil Rystrom in a fall (1:58).
Wildcats’ Janae Dukes (155 lbs.) marked fifth place over Southwest Valley’s Avery Curphey in a fall (1:14), while Emma Sand (120 lbs.) fell in her fifth place match versus Southwest Iowa’s Maddalynn Hume in a fall (2:34).
