Nathan Behne, the 2024 Greene County High School graduate, and kicker/punter for the Upper Iowa University (Fayette) football team, has added to his list of accolades. He has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Co-Special Teams Player of the Year as well as being named second team All-Conference as both a kicker and punter. Behne is the son of former Jefferson residents Carl and Allison Behne.
Behne is the first UIU player to be named a conference player of the year since 2011 and is the first Special Teams POY in Upper Iowa football history. In what many would consider an unusual twist, he was not selected to the first All-Conference team, but shared POY honors with a kick/punt returner from another school.
The Peacocks (8-3) will play Hillsdale College (6-5) (MI) on Dec. 6 at 1 p.m. in Carmel, IN at the Albanese Candy Bowl.
