Junior Cate Erickson has been named the first wrestler of the week of the 2025-26 season for the Perry Jayettes girls wrestling team. Erickson has been on a tear so far in the early portion of the season, currently undefeated at 8-0.

In the 130 weight class, Erickson has found success at both meets of the season thus far, winning three matches at the SWAT Duals on November 20th, then placed first to secure the championship at 2025 Central Iowa Kickoff. The Jayettes competed against 33 other schools, with Erickson claiming first place at 130, defeating wrestlers from: Gilbert, Ogden, Algona and Raccoon River-Northwest. Erickson defeated Tatum Heaberlin of Gilbert by decision 7-6 to claim the 130 weight class championship.
