Last night on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com the Greene County varsity girls’ basketball team began the 2025-26 season. The Hawks of Woodward-Granger hosted the Rams in Woodward and the home team dominated from the start and won, 63-21.

The Hawks made 11 three-point shots and six of them came from senior Riley McCauley who totaled 18 points. Addie Lego had 13 points and 10 Hawks scored two or more points.

The Rams had nine points from junior Makenna Ebersole and eight by senior Becca Anderson. The Rams were not able to limit turnovers with 34 for the game including 22 in the first half when W-G built a 45-11 lead.  All but the first few moments of the second half were played with the running clock after W-G went up by 35 points. Despite playing 10 players requently, there were just 12 turnovers from the home team.

Next up for the Rams is a girl/boy doubleheader at Ogden on Dec. 1, followed by a girl/boy twin bill on Dec. 2 in Jefferson vs. Perry.
