Funeral services for Iola May Bainter, 75, of Perry, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025, at the Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home – Perry Chapel

Her visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home – Perry Chapel. Burial will take place at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be shared at www.caldwellparrish.com.

Iola was born on July 4, 1950, in Manning, Iowa, the daughter of Howard and Gladys (Jorgensen) Hicks. She graduated from Perry High School with the Class of 1969.

She enjoyed quilting, working on puzzles and puzzle books. Iola was a devoted member of New Day Assembly Church in Perry and a woman of steadfast faith. Above all, she treasured her family and cherished every moment spent with her children.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jeff Bainter, Stacy Bainter, and Lisa Bainter all of Perry; siblings, Shirley Anderson of Boone, Carolyn Wachter of Liberty Center, and Barry Hicks (Patty) of Des Moines; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Gladys Hicks; siblings; Winona Roberts, Lester Hicks, James Hicks, Brenda Brown, and Bruce Hicks.
