The Jefferson City Council met Tuesday night in regular session.
The Council approved four resolutions obligating funds through the Urban Renewal Tax Revenue Fund for the Jefferson Hotel Group for Cobblestone of no more than $101,200, Mark Bauer Development for the Lincoln Ridge Estates for no more than $27,000, Fairview Veterinary Clinic of no more than $15,500 and the Tri-County Lumber for the Briarwood Estates of no more than $7,000. Additionally, the Council approved a plat of survey for Greene County Development Corporation for The Sanctuary Church to purchase 0.76 acres east of North Elm Street.
The Council also approved two hiring resolutions for Lyndsey Wathen to be the new Assistant Parks and Recreation Director and Luke Shipley to be a sanitation and streets employee. Next, they approved a grant application and an engineering agreement for a sidewalk project that would extend from West Central Avenue to Greene County High School and to the animal shelter. City Administrator Scott Peterson noted that the project would only be funded if the regional transportation grant is awarded. It was also mentioned that less than $10,000 of a preliminary engineering study would be done as part of the application.
The Council also approved an amount not to exceed $25,000 for a preliminary engineering study for Drainage District 57 that includes the east side of town, as well as paying $21,000 from the sewer fund for a used generator from Osecola to replace a generator at two city wells.
