The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Basketball Team put up a great effort on Tuesday on the road versus fourth-ranked Des Moines Christian, but fell 59-55.

The Tigers opened their season on Monday in Norwalk, where the third-ranked Warriors made an early statement, winning 63-41 behind freshman Braylyn Birmingham’s 31 points. On Tuesday, ADM faced another formidable opponent in DMC, who stormed out to an early 18-13 advantage after the first quarter. However, in the second quarter, the Tigers outscored the Lions 17-15, but still trailed 33-30 at half. The second half was nearly identical in terms of scoring, with DMC having the edge at 26-25, which took them to a 59-55 victory.

The Lions improve to 2-0 prior to the Thanksgiving break and will travel to Ankeny on Monday, while the Tigers drop to 0-2 on the year, as they will have another road game in Grimes facing off versus Dallas Center-Grimes on Tuesday.
