Adel-DeSoto-Minburn senior Hudson Lorensen is encouraging younger teammates to soak in every experience as a learning opportunity.

Lorensen has been a scoring machine during his time at ADM, accumulating a total amount of 1,048 points through his junior year. He enjoys getting to play alongside longtime friends of Hudson Shull and Trey Bryte, who have been a collective basketball unit since second grade. Now as an upperclassman, Lorensen shares that he’s been telling the younger players to be a sponge when it comes to being coachable.

“Take up every inch of knowledge that you can get. If you’re in the gym and you’re watching an older guy workout, see what they’re doing and see how I can incorporate that into my game. Just take in all the knowledge that you can and try to grow as much as possible.”

Lorensen says that he’s been working to continue his offensive prowess in the off season, plus emphasizing the defensive side of the ball. The Tigers concluded the 2024-25 year with a record of 22-5, falling to Clear Lake in the Class 3A State Semifinal. ADM opens the regular season on the road in Grimes on Tuesday, facing Dallas Center-Grimes at 7:30pm.
