The AC/GC Chargers boys basketball team is preparing to get the season started next week.

Junior Preston Kent says that he’s ready for the games to get going for his third year with the team. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that even though there’s only one returning starter from last season, the three returning seniors are a huge help for the team.

“It’s definitely a good thing. I mean, they always offer advice or just like, tell younger players what to do. And it’s just helpful to have that kind of guide to like say, ‘Here’s what happens in a varsity game,’ and ‘here’s what you should do, and what you shouldn’t do.’”

Kent mentions that even with the talent from the returners, this year’s freshmen class are no slouches. He adds that the youngest group on the team makes practices very competitive, and that it is helping to push the upperclassmen to be their best as well.
