Panorama Activities Director Bruce Dahlhauser gives a message to incoming freshmen navigating high school activities for the first time.

Dahlhauser realizes that there are a bunch of new experiences for freshmen, as they try to figure out high school itself, but then learn the system of an activity or sport if they go into that direction. One piece of advice that Dahlhauser relays is to not be afraid to make mistakes, and seeing it as a learning opportunity.

“As long as you’re putting yourself out there and you’re willing to give it a shot, that mistake is going to make you a better person, a better player, a better leader come two or three years down the road. In the end, they’re all going to be productive.”

Dahlhauser stresses that the only way to improve is to take risks and to determine the areas you can grow.
